NEWS FOR JULY 2009

In 2009 we were made aware of the Kids Can Charitable Trust. This is an organisation who is assisting low decile children in the community and are working towards providing the basics children need; shoes, food, and clothing. As part of our support we have donated a pony party package to the value of $500 along with the assistance of Saddlery Warehouse for the Kids Can Sella Big Night In Auction. Keep an eye out at your local market for our horses promoting this event. More details and a schedule of events we will be attending will be available shortly.

NEWS FOR MAY 2009

After careful consideration and the viewing a similar float we commissioned Float Factory of Palmerston North to Build us a customised version of their Millennium 2000 Deluxe floats. We have spaces for 7 horses and an ample dressing room, kitchen, awnings on both sides of the float and sundome. The icing on the cake is the graphics that were designed and installed by Cannon Signage Concepts in Kumeu. Our kitchen set up is currently being installed by Stinger Limited. Thanks to all those who have assisted in making our dream float become a reality.

BARN UPGRADE

Over the course of last year we looked at relocation to a new property, however every time it got to weighing up the pro's and con's our exisitng property came out on top. Over time we compiled a wish list of things that would make our place more user friendly, these included putting a central race down to our broodmares paddocks, a new purpose built barn and outdoor yards and runs which will free up our existing outside covered pens and stables for our broodmares.

The barn new barn structure is 10m x 18 metres and has additonal covered bays at the entry and on the sides. This will house our show team, a hot and cold wash bay, tack room and feed room.

Alpha Lodge have had a stunning Chestnut and White colt sired by Fantaisa Diamond, out of Vanace Lilliput.

OUTSTANDING MINIATURE HORSE MARES BOOK

We are lucky enough to have the 3 broodmares we nominated accepted into the Outstanding Miniature Mares book. This book is published in the USA and is the sister publication of the Outstanding Miniature Stallions book which was published last year.The mares who have been nominated and accepted are Keystone Countess, Ridgeview Monarchs Cause 4 Applause, and Totara Downs Oh Susannah. Ridgeview Abbys Desinger Genes, Ridgeview Remarkable By Design and Ridgeview Abby's Ive Gr8 Genes 2 will also feature in this publication on behalf of Vance Lilliput, previously owned by us.
